An opportunity to act as the go-to person at Peel Regional Police for system and software solutions and application user training.

As an Analyst-Programmer on our Information Technology Services (ITS) Business Solutions team, you will develop, maintain and support new and existing software applications. More specifically, you will:

  • Analyze user requirements and participate in the design, development and maintenance of computer software applications.
  • Analyze, design, implement and maintain databases.
  • Create technical documentation and provide technical guidance to staff.
  • Provide user training for applications.
  • Diagnose and solve system and application problems.
  • Evaluate, configure and implement software products.
  • Perform software installations, and upgrade and monitor system performance.
  • Analyze system hardware requirements and evaluate, implement and configure hardware products.
  • Receive training and upgrading from external or internal resources, to keep abreast of changing technologies.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.


In the role of Analyst-Programmer, you will apply the following education, experience and skills:

  • A university degree in a Computer Science-related discipline or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows 7-10, Windows Server 2012-2016, SQL Server 2008-2014, and databases, including MS SQL and MS Access.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of C#, .NET Framework, ASP.NET, JavaScript, XML, XSL, MVC, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Bootstrap.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with TFS version control.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rational database design and query concepts.
  • Demonstrated well-developed technical support and application development skills.
  • Demonstrated strong planning, organizational, analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.

The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $51,572 to $79,304 per annum and is complemented by a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental (after 6 months) and Life Insurance; and the OMERS Pension Plan.
