Position Overview:

The Administrative Assistant will greet visitors at reception and will provide administrative support to the Abbott Diagnostics Division (ADD).

Status: Temporary, Part-Time (12 month contract, approximately 20 hours per week)


  • Process non-inventory purchase orders in JDE
  • Provide the following administrative support functions and act as back up to the department:

-Organize, maintain and control proper filing system and procedures

within the department.

-Handle incoming calls, sort mail and related correspondents

  • Prepare and issue standard procedure forms, i.e. cheque requisition, vacation and absenteeism list and department expenses.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for non-Abbott employees
  • Handle mail & couriers – inbound and outbound
  • Send out mail to field staff if needed
  • Order stationery, business cards
  • Order lunches
  • Book meeting rooms
  • Reception
  • Other administrative tasks for Abbott Molecular Division, Abbott Point Of Care, Abbott Nutrition

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School diploma
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Mature, can handle stress and pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills, self-discipline and focus
  • Good productivity tools (PC) skills
  • Excellent accuracy and follow-up skills
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Excellent judgement
